Are you using videos in your marketing?

I’ve started using videos recently, and it had a big impact on my business. In fact, it’s one of the big reasons behind my success. Why I’m able to make 6 figures online with a small list of under 4,000, and crank out new products every month.

Ever since I started using videos my business has practically doubled, and my work load has been cut almost in half.

Here are some details on how I use videos and how you can too…

There are 3 kinds of videos I use.

1. Short promo videos giving quick details.
2. Screen capture videos showing a product in action.
3. Screen capture tutorials.

1. Short Promos:

These short promos get people engaged and this leads to them reading the rest of what you have to offer. It’s not really meant to sell right there on the spot, but rather to lead people into the rest of your sales copy. Kind of like a headline.

It gets people’s attention and curiosity, and then gives some brief details (biggest benefits) in a visual, engaging way.

You know, someone is browsing the web, they come to your site. There is a video. Cool, let’s click on it.

If there is a play button, a lot of people want to click it out of curiosity. They just want a quick glimpse, even just the beginning of a video. I know that’s what I do when I browse around. Anyway…

Once they watch the video, it draws them into the rest of the copy. Plus if the video is really professional and polished, it automatically leaves a good impression on them. YOU automatically look more legit and professional.

A few more tips…

TIP 1: You can use a short promo in the beginning of a longer video (30 min+) to draw people into the longer video.

TIP 2: You can upload the short promo video onto social media and file sharing sites, and get more exposure.

You can see an example of such a video here:
>>> http://www.graphicsclubmonthly.com

It’s a video that my cousin Dima created for my site, Graphics Club Monthly. I ran some split tests with and without the video, and the page with the video outperformed the one without by around 30%.

That’s a significant increase, and I’m happy with the results. So I added the video to my main sales page.

If you want Dima to create a similar video for you, I’ve arranged a special discount for my list where you can get 50% off his usual price. The last time I ran this special, it got a good response and several people got more than one video, because they liked the first one so much.

I can vouch for his service, and I guarantee that you’ll be happy with your videos. So if you need one created (and I suggest you get one, since they do increase conversions) you can get one with a discount from:

2. Screen capture videos showing a product in action.

The next example of a video I use is the longer screen captures showing the product in action with some step by step instructions. You can see an example of one on my new product page at:

>>> http://www.graphicsclubmonthly.com/supereasygraphics

It’s much easier to show someone how something works, instead of trying to describe it with words. It makes a bigger impact if someone can actually see for themselves what ever it is you have in action.

For me personally, selling graphics related tools, being able to show my stuff in action makes a huge impact. When people see my action scrips or layer styles or what ever else in action, they get the point right away.

Plus it saves a lot of time in writing copy. It’s much easier and faster to create a 5 minute video showing the details and benefits than trying to write it all out. That’s one of the ways I save a lot of time.

I’ve ran some tests, and these videos also increase my conversions by around 30% to even 100% and more!

But that’s not all, using videos has also cut my workload by a significant amount…

3. Screen capture tutorials.

How it saves me time…

Before I used to create instructions and tutorials by taking screenshots, writing captions, writing down all the steps, then compiling everything into PDF. This took a lot of time. In most cases several hours of work. And some people were still confused if I didn’t include a specific screenshot.

Now I create short instructional videos, that show everything on screen, that are easy to follow and easy to create. My customers are happy, and I’m happy since these videos are much easier to create and take a lot less time than the PDF tutorials.

In the past, I was always turned off by the idea of creating videos. How will my voice sound? What if I screw up? My videos don’t look “perfect”. Plus all the nagging post capture work and rendering also turned me off.

I’m sure a lot of people can relate to this.

But after doing a few videos, and just throwing them out there, I realized that’s in no big deal. And it’s actually a lot more tolerable than compiling all those PDF tutorials. Plus I found a cool program that makes screen capturing really easy and fast

I use a program called “iShowU” (it’s Mac only). The main reason I really like this program is because it’s really easy to use (you’ll be up and running in minutes after downloading it). And it also renders the movie in real time as you’re recording it. So once you’re done the capture, the video is ready right away, and you don’t have to wait 20 minutes for it to render.

The only downside is that the program doesn’t have a built-in editor, like Camtasia for example. So if you want to make modifications to the video you will have to use another program (like iMovie).

TIP: You can combine screen capture sales videos with screen capture tutorial videos to save more time. You can basically create a hybrid video that both sells and teaches, and use that both on your sales page and in your instructions. You can even add the short promo video at the beginning.

Here is a new screen capture tutorial I created on how to use Photoshop layer styles. If you’re new to layer styles, this video is for you…..

Hope this post was helpful.

P.S. If you’re not using video in your business, you’re missing out big time. I have seem dramatic results myself (more money and more saved time). And I’m not even taking advantage of all of the Web 2.0 social video sharing sites. I recommend you start incorporating videos into your business (if you’re not already).

And again, if you need a short promo video created, I highly recommend:

P.P.S. Dima is also looking for affiliates to promote his new service. It’s a high end service, so you will get hefty commissions on each sale ($150). Plus it’s a high quality service that will add great value to your people and give them the power of video.

Dima doesn’t have a list of his own, so I’m helping him out to spread the word. He does awesome work though, and the sales page converts as long as people get to it. Last time I did a promo to my list we got 9 sales (some repeat). So it’s a quality service that converts and you can be assured that your people will be taken care of. Hi Guys,

Here’s a quality resource for you.  It’s a 278 page book on using Photoshop.  The book is called “The Photoshop Anthology: 101 Web Design Tips, Tricks & Techniques”.  This book used to sell for $29.99 and you can get it for free for a limited time.

I looked it over and it’s a quality book.  So I suggest you download it while it’s still free.  I get nothing for recommending it to you.  Just passing along a quality resource.

You can download it for free from the link below:

Max

P.S. I’m putting the finishing touches on next month’s product, which is looking really good so far.  And I’m also working on more quality freebies to post on the blog and will be making the next post in a few days.
